4 Steps To Writing A Blog Post
When you write your blog post, you want to make sure it’s complete. You don’t want to leave out an important step or go back later and read it and wonder why you it doesn’t feel like you got your message across. Here are four steps that will help you ensure that you are covered in writing your post!
Step 1: Identify your Audience
This is so important! Who are you writing this for? Do they have a general knowledge or your topic or possibly a complete newbie? This helps you understand exactly what you need to explain, the tone you’ll use, and what you want to say.
Step 2: Identify your Take Away
What is it that you want your audience to know after they read your blog? Do you want them to know how to complete a task? Feel encouraged? This is your ‘main idea,’ what you want them to be able to remember after reading your post.
Step 3: Brainstorm for Titles
Brainstorming for titles is tricky. Sometimes it is easy to do at the beginning and other times it’s easier to do at the end. Write down some title ideas to get your started and to spark some creative article ideas. Once the article is completed you can see which of these titles best suit your new post.
Step 4: Create an Outline
By creating an outline, you are ensuring that you have all your bases covered. Some people find it easier to write the body of their post first before the introduction or conclusion which is totally fine. You just want to make sure that you have these areas in your post for it to be complete.
Introduction: (What you’re going to be discussing)
Body: (The meat of your post where you explain the point in your introduction)
Conclusion: (Wrapping it up and putting a bow on it. Summarizing what you’ve said and why you’ve said it)
