Affiliate Marketing Programs
*This post contains some affiliate links. This means, if you use one of the services I may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you.
When you start to blog, one of the first things a lot of people hear about is how you can make a “passive income” and affiliate marketing. This is sometimes unfairly represented as a promise that you can put up a blog, paste some ads…sit back and watch checks come in.
It’s not quiet that easy… at least in the beginning. It takes a lot of hard work. If you are willing to do that though, it can pay off. Here’s the thing- to be successful in blogging you have to remember thisChase after the dream, not after the money Click To Tweet
Approach it with that thought in mind it and 1. Will make you give it your all, 2. it also makes blogging a rewarding experience for you.
I do WordPress Design and Development because I love it. It enables me to help people get their voice and/or product out to the world. They may not understand the mundane steps that must be taken when building their site and customizing their themes but in the big picture it makes a difference.
It’s been proven that having a website can make or break your business. If you have one that is appealing to the user and easy for you to use and update information on then it’s going to make it a much easier process for you. That allows a blogger or small business owner to focus on their product rather than making sure their website is up to date.
My Favorite Affiliate Program
My favorite Affiliate Program that I’ve used is Share-A-Sale- Get paid for your great content. shareasale.com.
There are so many different merchants to choose from, in a wide range of categories. While you do have to be approved by the individual merchant everything is still held under one umbrella making it easier to keep track of. It is also pretty easy to get approved to start using Share-A-Sale.
Another very cool feature is their quarterly Merchant Box.
The merchant box has various different samples in it along with 3 pamphlets (based on your choices at the time of ordering a box).
There is a $25 fee for the box, but it includes- product samples, as well as the ability to select a gift from one of the featured merchants (a $50 value). If that isn’t enough you can actually earn back 80% of the cost by
- Apply and get approved by 5 or more Featured Merchants and receive $5 back.
- Drive a sale for any of the Featured Merchants (that you are newly partnered with) within 30 days and receive $5 back.
- Write a post for the featured product promotion that generate clicks and receive $10 back.
Make sure to keep an eye out for the Merchant Box availability!
Merchant Look Book
The Merchant Look Book is another unique feature to Share-A-Sale. It is a great way to discover new merchants that you may be interested in becoming affiliated with.
If you aren’t familiar with marketing and how it works I do recommend looking into it. There are some great classes through Creative Live such as their Online Marketing & Sales Classes. I LOVE Tara Gentile Create a Marketing Plan & Grow Your Standout Business. Sign up for a free account and watch the “live” on air broadcast. You can RSVP for them to get a reminder.
