Branding Your Business
Branding is one of the most important parts of business no matter how big or small. Your brand is your promise to your client. Click To Tweet It tells them what they can expect from your products and services. It is derived from who you are, who you want to be, and who people perceive you to be.
Your brand should be consistent. You never see a pink Coca Cola Classic sign, it’s the red and white iconic image. I know what you’re thinking, “It’s just me and my blog, not a whole corporation.” This may be true, but ...you are still a brand. They need to be able to trust your brand to take those steps.
Defining your brand is similar to a journey of self-discovery. It can be difficult, will likely take some time, and is often uncomfortable because being made to spell these things out is hard. Keep in mind though; most things that are worthwhile have to be worked for though.
Here are some Brand Discovery questions to help you get started.
Who are you?
What is your passion?
What do you want to represent?
What career or business attributes would you say people recognize you for?
What value do you provide?
What problems are you able to easily solve for others?
What makes you unique?
What markets could benefit from your service?
Once you’ve discovered your brand, you will begin deciding on brand colors, fonts, vision, logo. You want to make decisions on these things in order to create your brand consistency, without it, your attempt at establishing a brand won’t get off the ground.
