Ranking In Google- When Will My Site Show?

It’s a journey, not a race
A super common question that I’m asked and often see on the web as well as – “How long does it take to rank in Google?” ? Most of the time it’s followed by “are there any tricks to get there faster?” ?The answer to the first question is complicated. ?The answer to the second question (regardless of what you may hear elsewhere) is NO. There are no ‘tricks’.
In order for the web to be useful, it has to have procedures in place to “vet” things. ?It’s similar to having a room full of experienced people in a particular job and a new person comes in with little to no knowledge and expects to be CEO before he even shows what he knows or is capable of. ?You’ve got to work your way up that ladder. ?This is in part why there are algorithms (a process or set of rules to be followed in calculations or other problem-solving operations, especially by a computer.)
You may be very knowledgeable about the thing you’re doing online which means you will move up the ladder likely faster than a brand new person. ?I say likely because let’s face it persistence and determination does have an impact on growth.
Depending on the niche and keywords that you’ve chosen it may be at best 6 months to rank. ?It’s not uncommon for it to be a year or more. That isn’t to say that during that time you won’t see it moving up; you will see improvements and growth. ?Don’t be disappointed or discouraged when you’re not skyrocketing to #1 two weeks after you being though.
Tricks To Rank In Google Faster
There are no true ‘tricks’ to get you ranked faster. ?There are some that can get you banned from Google which is essentially internet death. ?If a person or company promises you Google rankings be very leery. ?Check out these SEO Practices That Will Destroy Your Google Rankings.
What Does It Take To Rank? What Is SEO
Ultimately it comes down to having great, consistent, useful content that is easy to read and easy for users to navigate through. ? That is essentially it. This is better known as SEO or Search Engine Optimization. ?It isn’t nearly as complicated as it sometimes seams.
There are many factors that Google looks at. ?Backlinko.com has a listing of Google’s 200 Ranking Factors with a breakdown of what each one is.

Don’t be discouraged when it doesn’t happen immediately. ?If you make a solid plan and follow through with it you can track your growth along the way and see that you are moving towards your goal of ranking higher in Google. ?This is why it’s important to set goals and kpi’s?for your site. A SWOT Analysis isn’t fun to do but it is necessary and can help you set your?goals.
Google Analytics is a great way to help you measure how your site is doing. ?Check out this post on meanings of common Analytic Terms.
Keywords and Research
These posts have some helpful keyword?information on seed list and optimization. ?Recently, I also did a review of the Squirrly Plugin which is very helpful when it comes to keyword research and optimizing your overall post.
The Greater Good
It’s frustrating, trust me, I know. ?However, it’s for the greater good of the internet. ?Will there be things that manage to slip through for a while? Yes, it’s inevitable. ?Will there be algorithms imposed that mess with your rankings when really they shouldn’t? Yes, there’s a chance of that however, things will balance out and improve. ?Stay consistent. Stay persistent. ?Remember those things and you’ll be fine.
