What are Stock Photos?
Stock photos are professional photographs of common places, landmarks, nature, events, or people that are licensed for a specific use. Stock photography is a cost-effective method for designers to obtain professional photos and images without the costs of hiring a photographer directly (webopedia). It is a huge time and money saver even if you are buying a license to use the stock photo. Blogs, as well as other publications, rely on visual assistance to get their message across and to bring in interest.
Visual Assistance
Images are a very important part of your site pages and post. People are visual and it helps with getting them to engage with your site and content. There’s a new site out with great stock photos available for FREE.
Pikwizard for Free Stock Photos
Pikwizard is an amazing site with stock photos that you can use. It is difficult to find good stock photos that aren’t being used everywhere on the web so this site is definitely a gem! There are several ways to search. There are categories such as Computer Backgrounds, Brick Wall, Background Pictures, Wood Texture, Colorful Image, Sky Background, just to name a few. You can also filter by trending, latest, views, favorites, and downloads.

Computer Background Examples
There are a wide variety of free stock photos that all look professional, crisp, and have great color. It’s definitely one of the best stock photo sites that I have come across. There are photos that you can use for backgrounds and illustrations. One of the things I found cool about the site is that there are some business working photos/ team photos that can be very helpful if you are designing for a new site or a tutorial for something. This way you can have the same team in a presentation as opposed to having to look for random teams doing an activity.

Design Wizard has a free option (Apprentice) where you have 15MB of upload space for your images, and you can get premium images/templates from $1 each.
